We all know it’s important to put our money to work, but choosing how and where to invest can be daunting.
I firmly believe in index fund investing. Why? Because stock picking, market timing, and complex actively-managed trading strategies have historically come up short in their attempts to consistently outperform the market over a long period of time. At One Day In July we believe that using a diversified portfolio of index funds, keeping your investment fees low, and working with a fiduciary financial advisor is the best way to set yourself up to achieve long term financial success.
I work with each of my clients to build a portfolio that aligns with their financial goals and risk tolerance, and we adjust our strategy as your life changes. The future is unpredictable, but I believe that optimizing your investments and working with a dependable, fiduciary financial advisor can help you be more prepared for the unexpected.
Originally from Massachusetts, I attended the University of Vermont to study Political Science with a concentration in statistical analysis and research methods. While at UVM I served two years on the Board of Trustees for the University of Vermont and State Agriculture College, was inducted into the UVM Boulder Honors Society during my senior year, and I played four years for UVM’s club hockey team.
After graduation I remained in Burlington, Vermont where I was eventually elected to city council and served for five years. During my time as a city councilor, I worked on a number of community development initiatives and spoke at several national conferences about institutional partnerships and innovative economic development strategies. In 2017 I founded a consulting company that services businesses, nonprofits, and political operations on a range of strategic and economic development initiatives.
I have a passion for civic service and philanthropy both locally and internationally. I serve on the board of directors for Action Beyond Words, an international crisis response NGO that was established to deliver direct aid to Ukrainians displaced and affected by war. Since April 2022 I have helped lead multiple humanitarian aid missions to Poland and Ukraine.
I was the recipient of the University of Vermont 2021 Outstanding Young Alumni Award in recognition of my professional and service accomplishments.
I grew up playing hockey which taught me many life lessons. Working as part of a team, short-term sacrifice for long-term goals, and the power of grit are the principles that guide my work and how I live. When winter rolls around, you'll often find me out on the pond enjoying a pick-up game with friends.
I'm also an avid traveler. I've been fortunate enough to visit many different parts of the world, from bustling cities of Europe to remote wilderness areas in Southeast Asia. Experiencing new cultures and exploring new ideas makes travel equal parts exhilarating and educational.
I reside in Burlington, Vermont and work regularly in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania where I am helping lead expansion of One Day In July’s fiduciary financial advisory services. Through family, friends, and this professional network, I have deep connections to the Greater Boston and Greater Philadelphia areas.
